On a perfect fall morning, the four of us set out for a climb up beautiful South Six-Shooter. Morgan volunteered to take the lead, and did a fantastic job bringing us to the base of the summit block.
With a funky mantle followed by a juggy pull to the top, we looked over and saw that the next block over was about a foot higher. With no pro and 5.8(ish) climbing, only Andy Mac had the nerve to take the sharp end. He led beautifully, and soon, me, Andy Mac and Morgan stood atop the highest block~!

Arches National Park's Elephant Butte

I don't remember who suggested Elephant Butte to me. It might have been Scott Patterson, it might have been Ram...it might have been someone else. Regardless, DB and I set out one September morning for a climb of this, the highest point in Utah's Arches National Park.
With a touch of route-finding near the beginning, we eventually had a blast piecing this fun and meandering route together. Reaching the summit, we enjoyed the views over to the La Sals and elsewhere.
On our descent, we made a nice rappel or two down to an easy walking canyon that dumped us off not far from our vehicle.
