High Peak (aka Trump BM)

Just below the summit of High Peak

Although we'd spotted this small, rugged mountain before, DB recently enlightened me as to its named status on the topographical map. So we set out to climb it.

Easily gaining the north ridge from the highway, we wandered class 2 all the way to the summit, where we found an entire family of ravens loitering. Great stuff!

After a summit nap and other shenanigans, we decided to drop down the north slope and into the canyon that drains from there. Once in the canyon, we found a few short dryfalls that we either climbed through or around. Just above the point where the canyon flattened at its bottom, we encountered a nice 30-foot pour-off. Avoiding it on its right, we worked over a rib and downclimbed 4th class terrain to gain the easy wash below. From there, a short walk took us back to our waiting vehicle.
