Another fine day in the Mojave saw DB and I headed off to bag a peak I'd been meaning to get to for, say, 5 years. Always expecting Davidson Peak to be lame, it never made it to the top of the list.
As it turns out, Davidson was quite nice. Doing a loop of sorts, we hit the north ridge nearly a mile from the summit and found some very nice scrambling with good exposure to the west along the crest. The only difficulty was a 40-foot class 4 face we had to downclimb just before the top.
With weather moving in, we didn't take more than 5 or 10 minutes to peruse the register, have a snack, and brush off a few ticks...then it was time to head down.
Taking the east ridge, the going was easy and enjoyable. A pair of ravens kept us company.
Also this day were "Little Davidson Peak", "Beacon Peak", an absurd bonus, and "Gorge Peak", an aesthetic, small peak along the Arizona Strip.
