DB, engrossed in the majestic scenery around her

Somehow, the same day I climbed Mount Hood, I managed to have lunch in Bend, Oregon, make my way down to Crater Lake National Park, visit a few of the scenic overlooks, and then hike up to the fire lookout tower on the diminutive but pleasant summit of The Watchman.

The groovy snow slot portion of the trail

Heading out from the trailhead, DB and I passed through a snow slot and then followed the meandering, switchbacked trail up to the summit and its awesome views of the spectacularly brilliant blue Crater Lake (at 1,943 feet deep, one of the deepest lakes in North America).
