Coyote skull and disembodied hand in the desert

During an enjoyable 3-peak dayhike one afternoon, I stumbled across a coyote skull in a wash below the peak I climbed. It was a thrill to find this beautiful artifact, and it never ceases to amaze me what wonderful things you can run into in the desert. Rather than take it with me, I left it perched for others to enjoy in a colorful alcove below a neighboring mountain.
